Looking down into the Left Fork of North Creek just before the trail makes its big descent down to the streambed. The actual Subway section is well beyond what we can see here.

Once you make your way down to the streambed, look back at the blackish lava outcropping that you just hiked down from. You will need to locate this exit on the way back out.

Typical scenery in the lower sections of the canyon--trails of use alternate with hiking in and crossing the streambed. You will eventually get your feet wet, so don't go to great effort to postpone it. BUY PHOTO
