Just south of Mt. Carmel Junction, the first few miles of the Barracks hike follow a dirt road through a private ranch inset of land. Please be respectful and tread lightly to ensure future access for others.

Once in BLM land, the old jeep road hugs the muddy river and crosses from bank to bank numerous times.

Once the jeep trail leaves the river, the walls narrow and we are now hiking mostly in the river.
