HALF DOME (via the Mist Trail)

Half Dome is now within striking distance! The rounded "Subdome" can be seen in front of Half Dome proper.

Hiking up the ingenious Subdome route. The trail is steep but reasonable.

Looking back at the gorgeous scenery with majestic Clouds Rest in the distance.

Zigzagging up the exposed staircase...

Soon enough, the top of Half Dome appears in view. We are almost there!

As you approach the infamous cable route, it really does start to look ominous.

Brave hikers start their way up the cables! (Thanks to the permit system, the cables are not the crowded nightmare that they used to be.)
