The trail works its way up the forested landscape under Nevada Fall.

After surmounting the climb beyond Nevada Fall, the trail continues east and eases up for a bit.

The hike through Little Yosemite Valley is one of the few level sections of the route.

Heading north out of Little Yosemite Valley for another big uphill push. Half Dome is taunting in the background, reminding you how much work you still have to do.

Up and up we go! It's roughly 1800 feet of elevation gain through forested scenery like this to get from Little Yosemite Valley to the base of the Subdome.

Once we reach the top of the ridgeline, the views start to get interesting!
