Stream crossing under Tenaya Lake near the Sunrise Trailhead. During spring melt, this crossing can be a much bigger obstacle.

An early morning stroll through the lovely granite formations.

Far in the distance, the summit of Clouds Rest is catching the first direct rays of sunlight.

Starting the first big push up 1000 feet to the Sunrise Lakes area.

A teaser view looking back down through the forested slope.

Once at the saddle, we can see the Clouds Rest ridgeline to the south.

Passing by a nice little pond near the trail...
