Hiking the start of the Canon Brook Trail past the ponds south of the Tarn.

Just west of the A. Murray Young Path junction, the Canon Brook Trail starts its rocky ascent.

Canon Brook trickles through a large crevasse cut out of the granite mountain.

Standing inside the impressive notched crevasse. (The trail goes up and around to the left.)

Another shot of the great Canon Brook view. Dorr and Champlain Mountains are in the distance.

The trail continues uphill to the south ridge of Cadillac Mountain.

The Featherbed--an idyllic little pond located at the junction with the Cadillac South Ridge Trail.

Meanwhile on the other side of the Cadillac South Ridge Trail, the Bubble-and-Jordan-Ponds Path leaves the carriage road to start its ascent up the west side.
