The Featherbed--an idyllic little pond located at a break in the ridge line.

The trail goes up and up through the interesting granite formations!

The beautiful view looking south. While Mt. Desert Island is covered in lush vegetation, Cadillac Mountain gives it its namesake barren look from sea.

Near the summit, the trail runs close to the access road for a brief stint. The feeling of wilderness will be lost.

A minor little scramble close to the top of the trail.

And finally, a lovely view from the top of Cadillac Mountain! Seeing so many cars and tourists walking the summit loop might be a bit of a culture shock after hiking the isolated trail!
