PUBLICATIONS AND HONORS

Joe Braun's landscape photography has been published in numerous magazines, journals, books, museum displays, and even used as an album cover. It has been gratifying to have been published several times over the years even if the fame is limited and fleeting.

• Michigan Central Station Grand Reopening: Many of my photographs were used for informational plaques and museum-style displays throughout the building for the grand reopening celebration!
• Zion Natl Park Forever Field Guide: My "Milky Way above the Great West Canyon" photo used for the cover of the 2023 field guide.
• Country Magazine: Turnip Rock photo used for the cover of the June/July 2022 issue of Country Magazine.
• Zion National Park Dark Sky Photo Contest: One of my favorite Milky Way photos won the 2021 Dark Sky Photo Contest.
• "Surely You Are There" Album Cover: Bubbles startrails photo used for the cover of Luke Gard's album of accoustic guitar compositions.
• Keeping Promises: Hetch Hetchy Valley Yosemite National Park Report: Photo of Hetchy Hetchy Valley used as centerfold image in Restore Hetch Hetchy's "Keeping Promises: Providing Public Access to Hetch Hetchy Valley Yosemite National Park" April 2021 report.
• Backpacker Magazine: Grand Portal winter photo used for "trips and picks" article in the November/December 2020 issue of Backpacker magazine.
• Backpacker Magazine: East Fork of the Virgin River photo used for article on "almost famous" hikes in the Fall 2020 issue of Backpacker magazine.

• Zion National Park: Sanctuary in the Desert: Over 65 of my favorite landscape photographs are featured in the 2020 edition of this Park Partners/Zion Forever Project hard-cover book.
• Life in the Finger Lakes: My photography was featured in a spread for "Life in the Finger Lakes" magazine's September/October 2019 issue.
• Zion Natl Park Forever Field Guide: A few of my photos were used for the 2019 field guide of current and future projects.
• Great Lakes Pilot: Image of Turnip Rock surrounded by frozen Lake Huron used as the featured cover photo in the January 2019 issue.
• Acadia National Park Brochure: Photo of autumn colors along the Emery Path used in the Ranger Walks & Hikes brochure.
• The Phone Book St. George Area 2018: Zion photographs used for beautiful textured cover for the 2018 area phone book.
• Flying Home: The Colorado Plateau from Above and Below: Zion Canyon photograph used for cover of Craig Childs' beautiful book.
• Zion Natl Park Forever Website: West Rim Trail image featured as the welcome image on the Zion Natl Park Forever Project's website.
• Michigan History Magazine: My photo of Ann Arbor's beautiful Michigan Theater was used for the back cover of the September/October 2017 issue of Michigan History Magazine.

• Zion Natl Park Forever Field Guide: A few of my photos were used for the 2017 field guide of current and future projects.
• Ithaca and Tompkins County Travel Guide 2017: Two waterfalls photos used for the mini-waterfall guide in the "Visit Ithaca" guide.
