While you don't have to get close to the edge, the exposure could be intimidating to some... |
Looking down the head of Behunin Canyon. |
Descending down the roof of the world, the main canyon becomes more visible far below. |
Scout's Lookout marks the junction of the Angels Landing spur trail. If you have a spare one to two hours and can handle the exposure, do this hike! |
Continuing down the West Rim Trail is Walter's Wiggles, the clever set of switchbacks that take down a seemingly impossible ridge. |
Dayhikers zigzagging their way through Refrigerator Canyon. |
Coming out into the wide open main canyon. |
A final set of zig-zags in the trail take us down to ground level. |
This stretch of trail ends at the Grotto Trailhead. Walk the valley floor road north a mile to pick up the East Rim Trail at the Weeping Rock Trailhead. |
