Looking down the enticing Russell Gulch in the early morning light. It's roughly two miles
of territory like this to reach the Left Fork of North Creek.

Enjoying the first golden rays of direct sunlight!

Our hiking route will take us over the saddle of the slickrock hill below (not into the valley
to the right which is the Russell Gulch watercourse).

Looking behind us at the beautiful White Cliffs to the northeast.

Less than a mile away from the Left Fork, we now get a good view of the

Now in the Left Fork, things start out looking fairly benign, but the territory will shortly get much more interesting!
