NORTHGATE PEAKS TRAIL

Our family hike starts at the Wildcat Canyon trailhead. A nice 4-mile (round trip) hike on mostly level territory.

Just off of the Northgate Peaks spur is the sign to the Russell Gulch approach to the Subway route.

The Kolob Terrace section gets more rain than the east canyon, so we have a lot more green and taller trees here.

At the end of the official trail, we get a good view of the Great West Canyon. Not as impressive as
the viewpoints on the West Rim Trail, but still quite intriguing.
