An early morning scramble up and out the west side of Gifford Canyon.
After a short level sandy section above Gifford, we look down into the east/west canyon to Hepworth Wash.
Circling up and around to a spot where we can descend into the east/west canyon.
"Hey, I thought this was the downhill part!"
Taking a break before our hike down into the east/west canyon.
Hiding in "The Vortex" -- one of the narrow, tall cracks in the east/west canyon. Named by Bo and Tanya,
this is the spot where the wind flows backwards and time stands still!
Hiking down the pleasant streambed of Hepworth Wash. This is the only "family stroll" section of the hike.
A section of overgrown reeds swallows up the ground.
