THE SUBWAY (Left Fork of North Creek):
Looking down the enticing Russell Gulch in the early morning light.
The "north pole" log in the Subway. Every photographer and their mother takes
this shot and I can't resist the temptation either.
Time for a mandatory swim through a pair of beautifully-sculpted pools!
"The Subway" is a magical section of canyon with a smooth tubular undercut. It is almost impossible to
take a bad photograph here, but it's quite easy to drown your camera.
Beautiful section with many curves and dark alcoves.
In October, wetsuits make all of this beautiful cold water a blast to hike through!
Logs really like to get caught down here in the bowels of the canyon.
