LADY MOUNTAIN:
Sunrise under Lady Mountain! This route used to be an official trail, but it was closed in the 1970's because
it was too dangerous. Our goal is to be on top of that peak on the right!
Bo leads the way up the 2500-foot climb to the top.
The beautiful view from roughly half-way up the mountain. The main canyon is still in shadow.
Traffic jam at the exposed chimney obstacle! What the heck are we doing here?
(When this was a trail, a ladder used to be here to help hikers.)
Various ancient yellow, red, and white painted markers help point the way.
The dihedral obstacle: a little climbing trick to get up, and a nice little rappel on the way back down.
There are still many artifacts of leftover hardware from the old trail.
