Haleakala Crater in Haleakala National Park. We woke up at 2:30am to drive up to 10,000 ft above sea level to witness the legendary sunrise. This shot was from 5am - a 25-second exposure to show off the clouds beneath us.
The sun makes its first appearance above the clouds...
Moments later, the sky lights up to become an intense deep red.
Posing at the top of the world. It's only 40 degrees up here, so like everybody else, we were ill-prepared for the cold.
