MAUI:

MAUI -- "The Valley Island." Actually, Maui is probably better labeled as "the expensive resort island." It was a bit of a culture shock to arrive in resortworld and see none of the "world" tourists and "local" Hawaiians whom we had met elsewhere. Maui seems to be almost exclusively marketed to rich American mainlanders.

After a nap by the pool and a few coconut drinks, my socio-economic concerns were forgotten...
